Virginia Piñón

Virginia Piñón is an Argentine illustrator, author, and graphic designer born in Buenos Aires in 1966. She studied Fine Arts and graduated in Graphic Design from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Over the course of her career, she has illustrated more than seventy children’s and young adult books, as well as magazines and educational publications for publishers in Argentina and abroad. Her graphic design background has strongly influenced her approach to illustration, particularly her interest in conceptual imagery. 

In addition to illustrating the work of other writers, Piñón has created several books as both author and illustrator, including Manón, El regalo que espero, ¿Lista?, Mi lápiz, Una mano, and Helena y Lilla. Since 2015, she has also led workshops in schools and libraries throughout Argentina, sharing her passion for drawing with young readers. She has additionally worked on illustrated books for public education programs in Buenos Aires Province and developed her own line of illustrated stationery and products.
