One afternoon at school, while anxiously waiting to take a test, she thought that when she grew up, she would understand children. She never forgot that.
During her childhood, she moved many times. The first books she read were mysterious treasures left behind by previous tenants.
She is a psychoanalyst, holds a master’s degree in Children’s and Young Adult Books and Literature from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and teaches Children’s Literature at the Catholic University.
La ventana de papel was her first novel. Her other published books include Ema y las abejas, Un mar de preguntas, Cuentos de disparate y terror, Sim sala bim: Tres palabras mágicas, and Jardín ambulante. She also published the adult book Ni Dios sabía with Fin de Siglo.
She was a three-time finalist for the Bartolomé Hidalgo Award, presented by the Uruguayan Book Chamber, and received both the First Work Award and the National Literature Award from Uruguay’s Ministry of Education and Culture.
