Mónica López is an Argentine author of children’s and young adult literature, born in Buenos Aires in 1967. A teacher, advertising professional, and psychologist, she has built a wide-ranging literary career that includes picture books, short stories, novels, poetry, and plays. Her books have been published by numerous Argentine houses, including Del Naranjo, Quipu, AZ Editora, Longseller, Urano, Salim, and La Brujita de Papel.
Among her works are La Princesa Nostá, El avión de papel, Claras a punto nieve, El cuarto de la tía, Amigo invisible, Circo La Pirueta, El monstruo verde, Exploración Alto Planicie, and A los pies del Halcón. She has also collaborated with fellow author Valeria Dávila on the picture books Dicen que and Si yo fuera, as well as the Querido Diarioseries. Her writing often combines humor, wordplay, imagination, and the everyday emotional world of childhood.
