Luciana Fernández is an Argentine sculptor and illustrator born in Buenos Aires in 1966. She graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón with a specialization in sculpture and continued her training in the studios of sculptors Juan Maffi, Leo Vinci, and Juan Carlos Distéfano. She also studied contemporary art and later expanded into children’s illustration through seminars with Istvan Schritter and Claudia Legnazzi.
Fernández has participated in solo and group exhibitions while developing a parallel career as an illustrator for publishers in Argentina and abroad. Her work often reflects her sculptural background: she experiments with light, texture, and dimensional materials, frequently combining modeling clay with collage, oil paint, and found objects. She has also worked in advertising, designing models for 3D and stop-motion projects, and is a member of the Asociación de Dibujantes de Argentina and the Foro de Ilustradores Argentinos.
