Lucía Franco is a Uruguayan author, illustrator, and graphic designer who graduated from ORT University in Montevideo. Since childhood, she has studied painting, drawing, and photography. After working for several design studios and advertising agencies, she became an art director at a publishing house, where she began specializing in editorial design and illustration.
From 2013 to 2017, she lived in the United States and worked as a freelance illustrator and designer. After returning to Uruguay, she continued her independent practice. She has participated in competitions and group and solo exhibitions in Uruguay and abroad.
Her illustrations have appeared in publications, book covers, album artwork, products, and children’s books from Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, France, and the United States. Her detailed, colorful, and expressive work combines materials such as colored pencils, watercolor, cut paper, wax pastels, and ink.
