Jonathan was born in Leicestershire in 1965. Best known as a picture book author, his writing is inspired and influenced by the picture books he read as a child, including Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. Emmett developed his writing and illustration skills while studying architecture at Nottingham University. He left architecture in 1995 to pursue children’s literature and has since written more than fifty children’s books, translated into over thirty languages. He is the author of Principe y sapo and lives in Nottingham, England.
