Ca teter

Ca_teter (Jorge Mato) is a Uruguayan illustrator and visual artist whose work blends drawing, narrative, and a strong sense of atmosphere. Trained in Visual Arts in Montevideo, he has worked in illustration since the early 2000s and has exhibited his artwork internationally. He is also co-founder of the independent publishing imprint Ediciones de la Uniceja, created with Maco Algorta. 

His work has received major recognition in Uruguay and abroad. He won the Uruguay Illustration Award in 2018 and again in 2023, and his book La gran carrera received Uruguay’s 2021 National Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature and was selected for the White Ravens 2021 catalog by the International Youth Library in Munich. His illustrations have also been selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the Iberoamérica Ilustra catalog on multiple occasions.
